Journey Through Middle-earth Contest
So you may or may not know, that Turbine is hosting a contest right now, The Journey through Middle-earth, postcard contest, Im not going to go into details, im just going to provide a link. http://journey.lotro.com/
The 1st two regions are unlocked, Shire & Bree-land.. here are my submissions.
The Shire
Bree-land
Its seems (unless I missed it) there is no way to see the other screenshots submitted, I would be very interested to see what you have submitted, so please send them to me @ middleearthchronicles@gmail.com with the title, Journey Screenshot and I will post them here on my blog.
Videos will be coming soon, Im just waiting on a more stable client, going to try a fresh re-install tonight, I have tried everything Patience and the other devs suggested on the forums, and my client still crashes 2-3 times an hour. It is very frustrating to be recording a video, and 1/2 way through your client crashes, and then you have to re-record, over and over and over again.. so hopefully things will smooth out soon!

New LOTRO Expansion.. An Unexpected Journey
No this is not an official expansion announcement, but more of an idea that I think Turbine would benefit from if they implemented something like this. With the Hobbit movies just around the corner I really think Turbine would be stupid to not take advantage of this idea.. after all, now that Warner Brothers now owns Turbine.. there is nothing stopping them. So what is this idea I speak of? An expansion to LOTRO that is based on the Hobbit story line! …Well that’s impossible you say? The story of the Hobbit took place many years before the current timeline we play in.. BUT if Turbine implemented it right, it could easily be done. Here is one example that came to me as I was listening to the latest “Contains Moderate Peril” Podcast, where they were talking about “Hobbit” related video games. (You can find that podcast here: http://www.containsmoderateperil.com/contains-moderate-peril-episode-79-right-turn-clyde/ )
Many of you former World Of Warcraft Players probably remember the Burning Crusade expansion feature called “The Caverns Of Time” which allowed players to step back in time to experience a part of the storyline that happened years before the current world in which we played W.O.W today. Turbine could very easily do this very same thing, but instead of having us go back in time, We head to Rivendell and speak to Mr. Baggins himself, and he offers you a quest. This quest could be to sit down and listen to Bilbo tell the story of his “Unexpected Journey”. Once this quest was accepted you would be wooshed off to Northern Mirkwood, and be able to play a quest line similar to the Epic quest line we play today in Lotro today, That takes our characters on the adventures portrayed in “The Hobbit”
I really feel that something like this released during the lifespan of the 3 movies being released, would increase the LOTRO player base, Increase the popularity of the game, and put a lot more money in Turbines pockets’s.
I would really love to see a Hobbit themed expansion in Lotro, even if its just a Enedwaith/Great River style addition to the game. It would be fun, and I would bet money that (if implemented right) the Lotro community would eat it up!
What do you think? Would you buy a “Hobbit” themed expansion for Lotro? Leave me a comment with your ideas, and thanks for reading!

Lore On The Great Barrow & Barrow Downs:
The Barrow-downs or Tyrn Gorthad were a series of low hills east of the Shire, behind the Old Forest, and west of the village of Bree. Many of the hills were crowned with standing stones and barrows, hence their name.
The Barrow-downs were first inhabited by Men related to the Edain in the First Age, together with the Hills of Evendim to the north. They fled west as Easterlings invaded Eriador and passed on to Beleriand, but after these had left or been killed in the War of Wrath the Edain returned to their old homes.
During the Second Age they were fairly numerous, and when they met with the Númenóreans the Barrow-downs were the first places where the Dúnedain émigrés from Númenor settled. When Elendil returned to Middle-earth, the Barrow-downs were incorporated in the kingdom of Arnor. The Downs were revered by the Númenóreans because they were rightly recognized as the first tombs of their ancestors, long before they had encountered the Elves of Beleriand.
After the split of Arnor the Barrow-downs became the capital of Cardolan. After Rhudaur fell to Angmar, the Dúnedain of Cardolan entrenched themselves here, but in T.A. 1409 the realm fell and the Great Plague in 1636 killed any remaining Dúnedain hiding in the barrow-downs. The Barrow-wights were now sent there by the Witch-king. In the 1850s King Araval of Arthedain tried to recolonize Cardolan, but this failed because of the Barrow-wights.
Travelling from the Old Forest to Bree, Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin while travelling through the downs were ensnared by a barrow-wight, probably in the same cairn which held the grave of the last prince of Cardolan. They were rescued by Tom Bombadil, and from the burial treasure received enchanted daggers — designed to slay the evil servants of Angmar.
When the Nazgûl attacked Aragorn and the hobbits on Weathertop, Frodo slashed at one of them with his dagger but only damaged its cloak. Merry used his weapon to help destroy the Lord of the Nazgûl in the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, Sam left his beside Frodo in Cirith Ungol and later had it returned to him by Gandalf, while Pippin made use of his dagger in the Battle of the Black Gate to slay a Troll-chief.

How the noob falls…
Soo I was running errands today and I received a call from my sister, when I hang up the phone I noticed I was at 92 subs! I was excited cuse I was getting close to giving away this LOTRO Mithril Edition Box sitting here on my desk, I also seen I had multiple emails, so I browsed over to check them, and while I was waiting for the page to load, my phone went nuts, new mail, new mail, new mail.. 10+ mails in about 10 minutes.. so after my phone stopped freaking out, I went to my email account, and seen that 10+ new people had subscribed to my YouTube channel in under 10 minutes, and it listed them with no name, just “a New User”. This looked fishy to me, so I checked how much time was in between each email, and it was just about 1 minute between each one.. consistently… even more fishy… to make a long story short, I get home and sit down, surf over to my email and the “a new user” account has a link to each account so I make note on paper of each account, then head to my YouTube channel, and I have this message in my inbox(and im not going to use his name, ill explain why later)
“Hi, We got 100 subs , time to roll!”
When I saw this message I knew this was the newb who made all the accounts, so I replied:
“Well unfortunately “Someone” created 10+ accounts in a matter of 10+ minutes this afternoon, I can track subs in real time on my phone, its obvious that someone was creating these accounts to cheat.. because the time in-between subscriptions is very close on all of them.. so those do not count.” (Remember I only wrote this because I had a very good feeling that this was the guy who made the accounts to cheat)
about 15 minutes later he replies with this:
“Man… I’ve spent an afternoon raising your subs to 100.
So all my work was a waste of time????
By the way, can I take part with this account which (as you see ) wasn’t created for sub-raising?”
LOL.. some people.. anyways, I told him if he unsubbed all the fake accounts he made (and I know wich ones, cuse the emails I received from youtube, link to the accounts) I would let him enter with his legit account. (hence the reason im not using his real name)
This is just an example of how im keeping track of this contest if you subscribed, but didn’t follow on Facebook or Twitter, and I pull your name.. you wont win. SO make sure your on one or the other! Im also keeping track of who has subscribed so after the contest is over, when some of you (and I know some of you will) un-sub.. you will be blocked from any future contests on my site.
Anyways, yes I know im at 100 subs, but no its not legit.. if the newb & his 10+ accounts doesn’t un-sub the accounts by friday, I will put him and his accounts on the no more contests list, and pick a winner from who ever is on my sub list.
Thanks for watching Guys & Gals!
Into The Wild… Playlist
Instead of moving all 8 videos and spamming Twitter & The Lotro Combo Blog, Im just posting the playlist for the Into The Wild.. Series, I will move the single videos over slowly to limit the spam. These are the types of videos to expect from the “Into The Wilds” Series.. Daily Quests & Exploration of Middle-earth. Since most LOTRO players have seen these zones a hundred times, This series is more for some one who doesnt play LOTRO or may be new to Lotro. I will try to Include a short bit of Lore about each area I showcase in the discripton.
Thanks For Watching!
